In order to study on the effect of Cathami Flos aqua-acupuncture on the arthritis induced by injecting Freund´s complete adjuvant to the iight-behind sole of rat´s foot, rats were divided 4 groups equally, one group was not treated(Normal) and the other groups were induced arthritis by injecting Freund´s complete adjuvant(Control, Sample I lI ), Control : it was not treated without Freund´s complete adjuvant, Sample I : the 0.3mE saline aqua-acupuncture inserted into non-point locus, Sample Q : the 0.3me Cathami Flos aqua-acupuncture inserted into the corresponding locus to Yangnungch´bn(GB34) of right leg one time per a day for 5 days. And then effect of aqua-acupuncture on the Edema ; analgesic effect of pain ; change of blood WBC, HB, platelet and ESR ; change of serum RA factor and CRP was measured in rats.
The following results have been obtained.
1. In effect of Cathami Flos aqua-acupuncture on edema, Sample significant effect compared with Control and Sample I .
2. In analgesic effect of Cathami Flos aqua-acupuncture, Sample significant effect compared with Control and Sample I .
3. In effect of Cathami Flos aqua-acupuncture on WBC, Sample significant effect compared with Control and Sample I.
4. In effect of Cathami Flos aqua-acupuncture on Hemoglobin, all group of Control, Sample I and Sample 11 did not showed effective change.
5. In effect of Cathami Flos aqua-acupuncture on Platelet, Sample 11 showed significant effect compared with Control and Sample I .
6. In effect of Cathami Flos aqua-acupuncture on ESR, Sample II showed significant effect compared with Control and Sample I .
7. No group showed RA factor.
8. In effect of Cathami Flos aqua-acupuncture on CRY, Sample 11 showed significant effect compared with Control and Sample I .
According to this result, Cathami Flos aqua-acupunture inserted into Yangnungch´6n(GB34) appeared to have effect on Adjuvant Arthritis of rats. Therefore it is expected that Cathami Flos aqua-acupuncture may be available clinically. And I hope that many studies about security of aqua-acupuncture, selecting acupuncture point and herb remedy are continued.
